I have been creating covers for magazines and newspapers around the world for over 30 years. Here’s a small selection.
Book covers
Book covers are part illustration, part advertisements for the book. They have to give an instant impression of both the content and the feel.
Many of the covers are for seriously funny books by Giles Curtis.
I haven’t included here any of the covers for my own books.
The design process
It can take many iterations before you arrive at a cover both the publisher and the author are happy with.
This is a selection of the 20 versions I created of Giles Foden’s book Zanzibar.
The final cover is the one the publisher selected.
